Social Network Services in Libraries

Abstract: The article outlines trends in the use of the most popular social media in libraries. The research studies current state of the leading social media in the world and, in particular, in Ukraine, possibilities of their use in libraries. Comparative characteristics of Facebook and YouTube video hosting are examined. User statistics of Facebook is analyzed. The comparative characteristics of Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr are reviewed.
