Libraries of the early Italian Renaissance: from private to public

Abstract: Certain special characteristics of impressive increasing the number of private and appearance of public libraries in Italian Early Renaissance are considered in the paper, namely historic and culture background of this process, reasons led to existence of these libraries, importance of bibliophile views of humanists for libraries’ formation and for people awareness of its importance, sources of its funds increasing.
