Scholarly catalogue of written records as a source and a form of scientific research

Abstract: In the article we consider the definition of the term "scholarly catalogue"; characterize the types and kinds of scholarly catalogues based on their intended purpose, submit the reasoning concerning the classification of scholarly catalogues of written records into the category of scientific publications; define the purpose of a scholarly catalogue as a publication in accordance with the classification features.
