Authority control: the need of coordinated approach

Abstract: Article based on the report at the seminar on authority control of personal and corporate authors at the Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. It focuses on the importance of authority control of bibliographic records for efficient information retrieval and cooperative cataloging. Attention is drawn to the need of coordination of this work within the country.
