Kononenko I. Maria Sibylla Merian and her worksSection: Central Scientific Library of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University:History – Modern – Future Abstract: The article is devoted to the life and activity of Maria Sibylla Merian. She was a talented deutch scientist and explorer, an artist, the master of scientific illustration, publisher. The result of her researches and creative activities are the books of engravings, that doesn’t know so far no equal on accurasy and beauty of the drawings in the entomological literature. Great attention is also paid to the characteristics of Merian’s publications that are stored in the fund of the Central Scientific Library of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
