The policy of indexing of publications in the scientometric databases Web of Science and SciVerse Scopus

Abstract: This article highlights common principles of indexing policies of citation tracking databases Web of Science and SciVerse Scopus. It is presented sets of general criteria of journal selection processes, which are used by Thomson Reuters and Elsevier, similar and different aspects in both these policies. Special attention is given to policies of Web of Science and SciVerse Scopus for selection of regional scientific journals and bulletins.
