Optimization of information and library, information and analytical service for users on the basis of usage of online resources of the United Nations

Abstract: This article features the possibilities of the use of powerful potential of the United Nations’ and its spesialized agencies’ electronic and online resources with the aim of optimization of the library and information services of an ever – growing information needs of both internal and external users of the UN documentation Depository Unit of the NLU as well as provision of new services. Special attention is focused on the analysis of the main problems that press on the further development of library and information services for the users and useful practical suggestions and recommendations how to solve them.
