Solovianenko D. The academic libraries in the new sociotechnical perspective: Part third. The role of the academic libraries in construction of the integrated information e-environmentsAbstract: The paper is devoted to an overview of key trends in academic libraries of late 20th – early 21st centuries. The third part of the research is concentrated on library’s issues relating to the development of search and navigation tools as a part of their library portals. The core concepts and functional requirements of library portals are presented. The OpenURL model, a key technology of library portals, is analyzed in details. The software package reSearcher is described as an example of functional performance of the model. The preparedness levels in academic libraries for realization of e-science development tasks are characterized.
