Samokhina N. Domestic «Gubernskie vedomosti» in the newspaper editions collection of V. Vernadskyi National Library of UkraineAbstract: In the article the forming and developing of one of the kinds of Ukrainian national newspaper press – the local periodicals in the XIX – XX centuries are considered. These newspapers had been reflecting the official government point of view. But these editions had been presenting the historical, geographical, topographical, statistical and other materials also. The appearance of these editions furthered in 30–40 years of the XIX century to the animation of cultural activity in the province. On the background of the tendencies at this historic period the general characters of the content and the composition of the corresponding newspapers in the fund of the V.
