Electronic resources: an order of access and usage of them by library readers

Abstract: The paper studies the impact of modern information technologies on library practice. Creation of a modern software system capable of improving user service on the basis of network technologies is described. The terms of «library marketing» are defined. The dual and mutually compatible approach is characterized as the main principle of library marketing. The stage of implementing marketing into library practice at the Hall (Sectors) of Periodicals the V. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine is specialized. The significance of theoretical and applied studies on using marketing at libraries, and their influence on the libraries functioning is emphasized. The responsibility and role of libraries as social institution acquiring and distributing relevant documents to meet users’ information needs are defined.
