Аннотация: Проаналізовано основні підходи до тлумачення поняття «книжкова культура», окреслено його сутність і семантичне поле у рамках книгознавчого дискурсу. Йдеться про необхідність розширення ареалу досліджень в умовах конвергенції книжкової та інформаційної культур. Наголошується на проблемі читання як основного чинника інформаційної культури особистості.^UThe main approaches to the interpretation of the “book culture” concept have been analysed, its essence and semantic field within the framework of bibliographic discourse have been outlined, and great attention has been paid to the systematic nature and importance of research on the history of book culture in Ukraine. It has been emphasized on the publication culture as the determining factor of book culture and the problem of reading. The necessity of expanding the range of researches in conditions of book and informational cultures convergence has been highlighted as a dominant socio-communicative approach. It has been summarized, that the book culture reflects the degree of development and the level of book business perfection, it is a marker of the society cultural, intellectual and technical potential, and it covers the publishing, printing, communication, marketing and reading spheres of human activity.
