Document and information resources of archives, libraries and museums: digital transformations and challenges of war

Section: Library affair and science in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study trends in the digital transformation of document resources in the context of the challenges of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The research methodology combines general scientific and special methods of cognition, theories of social communication and documentstudies, methods of scientific analysis and synthesis, review-analytical, historical, classification and terminology, as well as methods of analytical monitoring of Internet information. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by the need to ensure the objectivity, accessibility and comprehensiveness of the documentation of events, processes and phenomena of the ongoing war, the task of collecting and storing documented memory. Academic, scientific, historical, cultural and documentary institutions are actively involved in this work, which requires proper selection, consistent organization of storage and processing of information in any form, as well as ensuring its availability for effective work with document and information resources. Conclusions. Archives, libraries and museums of Ukraine suffered significant damages and losses during the war. However, the events related to the war demonstrated tendencies towards change: the creation of digital conditions of functioning, the collection of document and information resources, and the introduction of new methods of organizing a cultural and meaningful work environment. This opens up the possibilities of revitalization of the archival, library and museum sphere, their reformation and modernization.

Keywords: document and information resources, archival case, electronic library, museum activity, digital transformations, challenges of war, document.
