I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. The research methodology consists in the application of systematic, historical and chronological methods, which allows to investigate the history of the formation of the book collection and the ways of the arrival of books to the scientific library. Conclusions. It was found that the fund of the fundamental library of the Podilsk Theological Seminary was formed from various sources. The vast majority of books of a scientific nature got to the book-collecting seminary after the closure of Polish educational institutions and monasteries located on the territory of Podillia. According to the time of existence of the monastery libraries, these editions belong to the old prints. Books from private libraries are attributed by book marks. It has been established that one of the largest private collections, which became part of the fundamental library, belonged to the archbishop of the Podilska and Bratslav eparchy Ioannikiy (I. Nikyforovych-Polonskyi (1742–1819)). Donation inscriptions belonging to well-known church figures and patrons were identified and researched. In addition, authors who donated their books to the book-collecting seminary were identified. It was found that a small part of the books got to the fundamental library from the Podilsk provincial library, as evidenced by the stamp on the title page of the copies. Keywords: book marks, gift inscriptions, Podilsk Theological Seminary, Ioanniky (Nykyforovych-Polonsky), V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine.
