Аннотация: У статті порушуються актуальні питання вітчизняної бібліотечної галузі, обґрунтовується необхідність долучення бібліотек до процесів цифровізації буття людини, піднесення рівня інформаційної грамотності як свого власного персоналу, так і читацького загалу. Пропонуються конкретні кроки у цьому напрямі: розбудова ефективної структури цифрового всеобучу, перенавчання, підвищення кваліфікації користувачів бібліотек; удосконалення каталожного господарства, систематизації, пошукового апарату, структури фондів, сайтів і порталів; перетворення бібліотек в осередки інформаційної експертизи, бібліотечного навігаторства; розширення можливого індивідуального цифрового сервісу тощо.^UThe article concerns actual issues of national library sphere, makes a strong case for engaging libraries into the process of digitalization of human existence, raising the level of information literacy as among inner personal of libraries so for wide range of readers. The concrete measures in this direction proposed: building up effective structure of universal digital education, re-skilling, advanced training of library users; improving the system of catalogue, systematization and searching tools, the structure of funds, sights and portals, transformation of libraries into information expertize and library navigation centers; the increasing spheres of individual digital services and so on. The digital era bears new tasks, new challenges, and new problems and at the same times new possibilities for raising role of libraries in the life of an ordinary person and a society in general. The social status of a library worker is objectively increased, but of such kind of a worker, who will be aligned with the process of digitalizing of human life. One of the possibilities which is underestimated now is the increasing the role of libraries in formation of information literacy of masses, renovation and enriching in digital mode the original and native function of libraries – the function of enlightenment. Libraries are creation, embodiment and personalization of literacy. It is bearer, savior and propagandists. It gets the fame of "flames of culture", because in times of each revolution in culture (hand writing, printing, digital edition) libraries supplement such forms and methods of supporting and spreading of literacy as skills to fix, to save, to transmit and to interpretate the information.
